About the role
The Clinical Nurse - Prison and Youth Detention Health Services Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) Program provides contemporary clinical leadership and care within a specific area supporting the general function of the unit through the application of best practice principles, education, leadership and portfolio management in the application and role modelling of professional nursing practice standards in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).
The Statewide Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) in Correctional Centres Model of Service underpins service delivery.
The OST Program is supported seven days per week across the six Correctional Centres in West Moreton Health. The shift pattern is an 8 hour roster on day shifts. This role works across all Correctional Centres in West Moreton Health.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Advanced clinical knowledge in the area of Addiction or Alcohol and Other Drugs (AODs) delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
- Role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
