Sunshine Coast Health is a values-based organisation. We are committed to the maintenance of a culture in which we treat our colleagues with respect as we do our patients, consumers and the community. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.
Psychologists employed in Sunshine Coast Health work within an evidence-based, client-centred framework to enhance the emotional and psychological health outcomes of patients. They provide psychological information, assessment, formulation, treatment and prevention plans, as individual practitioners as well as members of multidisciplinary teams.
There currently exists an opportunity to support Rehabilitation Services to provide clinical/health psychological assessment and intervention to Rehabilitation patients who have an active episode of care within this Service. Rehabilitation Services Psychology supports all SCH facilities and service partners to ensure patients within the Sunshine Coast catchment are triaged, assessed, and offered treatment within a clinically appropriate timeframe. There are currently two vacancies within Rehabilitation Services – with the Neurointensive Rehabilitation Service, based at SCUH, and with the Same Day Rehabilitation Service based at Nambour General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver independent high level Psychology clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
- Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced Psychology practitioners and students as delegated.
- Adhere to relevant expectations outlined in the SCH and Allied Health Governance Framework documents and Business Rules to ensure that best patient outcomes are achieved in a transparent, ethical and accountable manner.
