Cairns Hospital is the largest major referral hospital in Far North Queensland caring for patients from the Torres Strait to Tully, and offering many specialist health services.

Cairns Hospital Pharmacy Department is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Be part of a supportive team that values teamwork and comunication to ensure vital medications are provided to some of our most vulnerable community members. 

Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.

About your role:

  • Provide a defined range of pharmacy services for patients with complex conditions under the delegation and guidance of a pharmacist.
  • Refer to and liaise with health care providers within the immediate team as well as community health providers such as community pharmacists and general practitioners, under the delegation of a pharmacist.
  • Initiate, plan, and evaluate quality improvement activities under the guidance of a pharmacist.
