About your opportunity:

The cadet performs a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.

Cadets are employed casually to accommodate the commitments required by their studies while gaining pre-registration exposure to the workplace. The cadet contributes to pharmacy service delivery model within the Townsville University Hospital under the delegation and practice supervision of an allied health professional in the provision of effective patient care.

About the work unit / facility:

The Townsville University Hospital's Pharmacy provides responsible, safe, effective and economical distribution and use of medications in the hospital environment. The hospital pharmacy is limited to patients (including outpatients) of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service and is not open to the general public.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Casual rates: $38.69 to $45.51 p.h. (HP1)

Role Requirements:

  • This position requires the incumbent to possess proof of enrolment in a recognised Pharmacy tertiary-level program that results in a Pharmacy qualification.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted, including criminal history clearance.
