Your new role:
As the Clinical Governance and Safety Officer – Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and expert advice to strengthen patient safety, quality improvement and clinical governance across the Emergency and Clinical Support Service Line. Working closely with senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will lead NSQHS activities, incident management, audits and data-driven improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading patient safety, quality improvement and clinical governance activities
- Providing expert advice on clinical incident management, analysis and reporting
- Leading NSQHS Standards activities, including audits, gap analysis and short-notice assessments
- Analysing safety, quality and performance data to inform strategic decision-making
About you:
You are a senior Registered Nurse with strong clinical credibility and a passion for improving patient safety and quality. You are confident working autonomously, influence effectively at a senior level, and bring a collaborative, evidence-based approach to clinical governance.
You will bring:
- Advanced clinical expertise in patient safety, quality improvement and clinical governance
- Proven ability to analyse and report on clinical and safety data
- Experience leading change and service improvement initiatives
- Proficiency with RiskMan, CAMMS and Microsoft applications (desirable)
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (or working towards) highly desirable

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.
