About us:

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides Intensive Care Services for the city of Rockhampton and the district - including Gladstone, Emerald, Biloela and Longreach. As a regional facility the Department provides care to a mix of adult and paediatric patients with 450-650 presentations a year, including 60-100 paediatric admissions per year.

About the role:

The Deputy Director of Intensive Care Services will assist the Clinical Director of Intensive Care Services, Rockhampton Hospital, as a:

  • Leader: Connect and build trust with a shared vision and mission inspiring medical staff to optimise performance and maintain their engagement within the department.
  • Innovator: assist with the establishment, growth and sustainability of the service.
  • Manager: assist by assertively driving service productivity under evidence-based decision- making focussed on achieving better outcomes.
  • Team-member: Be a consistently active contributor in a multidisciplinary patient care team maintaining a clear culture of accountability.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA). This will require Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (FCICM).
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $559,860 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $259,072 - $274,678 p.a. (L25-L27)
  • A salary rate between $216,643 - $251,642 p.a. (L18-L24)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
