What's involved – The Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) - Supporting Healthier Pregnancies position will facilitate systemic and operational improvements with advanced clinical expertise to support the current and future health of pregnant women and their children. The initiative aims to build systems and capability for earlier access to antenatal care, identification of women that may need greater support, and enhance future-proofing preventative health practices and health promotion in antenatal care, with referral pathways to support.
The role of the CMC is to develop and oversee screening, preventative health practices and health promotion for antenatal clients by utilising advanced clinical skills and professional decision making to support a safe and efficient antenatal journey for the families of the CWHHS.
You will lead collaboration with other local HHS and community stakeholders to embed continuity of preventive health practices for women across the antenatal, birthing and postpartum period, including integration with child health, allied health and other services, where appropriate.
As a member of the Child, Youth and Family Health Team, the role will work collaboratively and more broadly with other team members to ensure sustained delivery of strategic priorities and operational imperatives.
