Clinical Midwife - Clinical Coach

This advanced Clinical Midwifery Coach role places you at the heart of safe, high-quality maternity care. Working across Birth Suite and Ante/Postnatal wards, you’ll combine hands-on clinical practice with coaching, supervision and education, supporting students, graduates and developing midwives to build confidence and capability. You’ll work closely with midwifery leaders to strengthen workforce development, clinical governance and quality and safety, while providing expert guidance during high-risk situations and obstetric emergencies.

About us:
Rockhampton Hospital provides high-quality maternity services to both public and private patients and serves as the primary referral hospital for Central Queensland, supporting more than 1,200 births annually. The service delivers comprehensive care for women with low, moderate, and high-risk pregnancies.
About the role:
The Clinical Midwifery (Clinical Coach) plays a pivotal leadership role within the maternity team, providing day-to-day leadership, support, and education across the maternity service while actively contributing to safety and quality initiatives. The role includes the supervision, guidance, and support of Student Midwives, Graduate Midwives, and newly appointed staff to ensure safe, high-quality, and consistent maternity care.
About you:
- Registered Midwife, current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA).
- While not mandatory, a relevant post graduate qualification would be well regarded.
- While not mandatory, at least five years clinical experience in the Maternity setting is highly regarded.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $11,321 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
