About your role
As the Principal Data Analyst, you will lead the delivery of complex data analysis, reporting and decision support services for Metro South Research.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading advanced analysis and reporting across Metro South and Queensland Health research systems, including dashboards, reports and executive-level insights
- Extracting, merging and analysing complex datasets to identify trends, performance insights and research opportunities
- Designing innovative reporting solutions where existing data products do not meet emerging research or operational needs
- Developing and maintaining standards, procedures and best practice approaches for data transformation, report design and analytics
About you
You are a highly experienced data and analytics professional with a strong background in complex data environments, ideally within health or research settings.
You will bring:
- Expert-level understanding of data systems and databases, ideally including ieMR, ERM or similar health information systems
- Proven experience analysing and reporting on large, complex datasets using advanced analytics, visualisation and automation tools
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify patterns, trends and insights from raw data
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical, clinical and executive audiences

Princess Alexandra Hospital:
The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
