We are seeking a motivated individual to start their apprenticeship, right here at the Rockhampton Hospital. As the Apprentice Electrician, you will develop hands-on skills under the guidance of the Electrical team, ensuring safe work practices and following all training requirements. You’ll assist tradespeople, travel within the Rockhampton District as needed, and maintain confidentiality while liaising professionally with staff, patients, and visitors.

About us:
BEMS has a main hub located in Rockhampton and other locations throughout the Banana, Central Highlands and Gladstone Region. The BEMS team has professional, administrative, operational and trades staff. The trades provided by in‐house staff include electrical, fitting and turning, plumbing, carpentry, painting and horticulture.
About the role:
The successful applicant will be eligible to qualify as an Engineering Tradesperson (Electrical) after gaining a thorough working knowledge of the electrical trade through structured on the job training and work experience as well as formal Technical and Further Education (TAFE) studies in Engineering Tradesperson (Electrical) Course.Develop a thorough working knowledge of the trade under the direction of the Electrical team. The position also aids tradespersons in the performance of their day to day activities.
To provide comprehensive services to support Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services (BEMS) within Central Queensland Health Services District. To maintain a high-quality engineering service which supports the District's commitments to the principles of patient focused care and quality management.
About you:
- Potential candidates must be at minimum, year 10.
- Sound pass in Maths and English or completion of pre-vocation training course desirable.
- Ability to undertake manual work and understand technical information.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, prioritise allocated work, meet deadlines.
- Possession of both written and oral communication skills and an ability to interact with all levels of staff.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $75,346 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $20.61 - $33.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
