This is a temporary full-time role up to 30/06/2026. PLEASE NOTE - There is a possibility of an extension dependent on ongoing funding.

About the opportunity  

Assist with management of imprest and Medical consumables supply at Townsville Correctional Centre.

Assist with ordering, coordination and communication with the contracted external community pharmacy for Pharmaceutical Dose Administration Aids (PDAAP) across Townsville Correctional Centre under the direction of a registered pharmacist.

The role will be underpinned by the Reducing Barriers to Health and Wellbeing: The Queensland Prison Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2020-2025 and will support efforts to:

  • Coordinate patient-centred care
  • Create partnerships
  • Improve patient outcomes
  • Facilitate systems improvement

Prison Health Service staff are subject to security and safety requirements of the Townsville Correctional Centre, represented under the Memorandum of Understanding. Staff are to familiarise themselves with the orientation and induction to the facility incorporating Correctional Service safety induction requirements including Corrective Services criminal history check as well as Queensland Health.

This is a temporary full-time, up to 30/06/2026.  PLEASE NOTE - There is a possibility of an extension dependent on ongoing funding and dates will be aligned to the specific funding period.

  • Salary range: $2624.50 - $2759.10  p.f.  (CA3)
  • 4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading
  • Locality allowance
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Desirable: Successful completion of Certificate III in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT37121) or equivalent, including the ‘Maintain Pharmaceutical 
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
  • Queensland Corrective Services Criminal History Check: Applicants are advised that this position works in a Queensland Corrective Services facility and requires employees and volunteers to have a current Queensland Corrective Services criminal history clearance as per the Corrective Services Act 2006.
