Advanced Renal Nursing in a Person-Centred Dialysis Service!

Metro South Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse – Kidney Dialysis to join the Bayside Health Service team at the Redlands Satellite Health Centre, Redland Bay. This permanent part-time role (24 hours per fortnight) provides advanced clinical leadership and specialist renal nursing care to patients receiving maintenance haemodialysis within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment!

About your role

As a Clinical Nurse within the Kidney Dialysis Unit, you will provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership and coordination in the delivery of high-quality haemodialysis care for patients with complex chronic kidney disease.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing advanced, person-centred haemodialysis nursing care to patients with complex needs
  • Leading and coordinating clinical care delivery, including assessment, care planning and evaluation of outcomes
  • Acting as shift team leader and providing professional support and supervision to nursing staff
  • Supporting portfolio responsibilities across clinical practice, education, quality and safety, and research
  • Contributing to service improvement, quality initiatives, audits and risk management activities

About you

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with advanced clinical expertise in nephrology and haemodialysis, strong leadership capability and a commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in nephrology and haemodialysis nursing
  • Strong clinical leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting education, supervision and development of nursing staff and students
  • A commitment to quality improvement, evidence-based practice and patient safety
  • A postgraduate qualification (or current enrolment) in a relevant specialty is highly desirable.

Bayside Health Kidney Dialysis Service 

The Bayside Health Kidney Dialysis Service provides maintenance haemodialysis for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on the Redland Hospital Campus at Cleveland. The service has increased to include a second haemodialysis location at the Redland Bay Satellite Health Centre.
