Gladstone Hospital is a 70-bed facility delivering a comprehensive range of services, including emergency, maternity, and high dependency care. Our team of 282 staff members is dedicated to providing "Amazing Care" to the Gladstone region and surrounding Boyne Valley. About the role:

  • Provide high-quality anaesthetic services including general, regional, and obstetric anaesthesia.
  • Conduct pre-anaesthetic assessment clinics and acute ward rounds for high-acuity patients.
  • Support surgical services for endoscopy, general surgery, orthopaedics, and dental procedures.
  • Lead and supervise junior medical staff and students to ensure safe patient care.
  • Participate in the on-call and weekend rosters to provide essential out-of-hours care.
  • Coordinate patient transfers in collaboration with Queensland Retrieval Services.
  • Contribute to theatre management practices to improve service efficiency and safety.

About you:

  • You hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
  • You are eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • You possess a JCCA, Diploma of Rural Generalist Anaesthesia, or appropriate Fellowship (FACRRM/FRACGP).
  • You demonstrate extensive clinical experience across the range of Rural Generalist Anaesthetic services.
  • You are capable of working in relative isolation while delivering quality clinical care.
  • You have a proven commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
  • You are a clear communicator who thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • You are dedicated to ongoing professional development and the supervision of trainees.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $500,515 p.a. (L25) is comprised of:

  • A salary between $187,569 - $259,072 p.a. (L13 – L25)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
