About us:
With significant redevelopment and expansion underway, Rockhampton Hospital's Cardiac Services are set to become a regional centre of excellence and major referral hub for Central Queensland. The service will include a new state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory with six recovery beds, a dedicated transoesophageal echocardiography and cardioversion procedure room, an expanded Cardiac Investigations Unit and a new 12-bed cardiology ward. Our team uses a multidisciplinary model to deliver integrated specialist care across the cardiac care continuum, providing comprehensive diagnostic, procedural, inpatient and outpatient services.

About the role:
- Provide expert guidance and support to develop clinical skills across the nursing workforce.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate simulation-based education and learning programs.
- Mentor individual nurses to acquire necessary knowledge for safe care in the CCL and recovery environment.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and participate in clinical audits.
- Coordinate clinical education using advanced assessment tools and constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to achieve Cardiac Services training and development objectives.
About you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related Field. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
- Minimum two years recent clinical nursing experience in interventional cardiology.
- A postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Nursing (or a commitment to complete one) is expected
- You demonstrate advanced skills in ECG interpretation, haemodynamic monitoring, and ALS.
- You are an expert communicator capable of building strong relationships within a healthcare team.
- You have a proven ability to plan, implement, and evaluate educational services.
- You show a commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $135,857 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
