Your opportunity: 

  • The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Senior Educator is a lead professional educator who promotes excellence in education and workforce development within a multidisciplinary environment. Focused on supporting new graduate, trainees, and existing employees, the role strengthens the skills, leadership, and career progression of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce (HWF) staff across multiple allocated Hospital and Health Services (HHSs).
  • Employed by Wide Bay Hospital Health Service the Senior Educator works in partnership with the Office of the Chief Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workforce (CATSIHWO) and local stakeholders to plan, develop, and manage ongoing professional development and training. Using innovative approaches, the role integrates learning opportunities that enhance clinical capability, leadership, and compliance, enabling staff to work to their full scope of practice.
  • The incumbent to this role will have demonstrated experience as a practicing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner or Health Worker and be recognised for their cultural and clinical expertise within their field and communities. They demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills at both the community and system level and apply their knowledge and leadership across two or more HHS programs/services. With qualifications beyond entry level, they work collaboratively across disciplines to achieve meaningful outcomes and ensure culturally safe, effective practice within multidisciplinary teams.

Under 25s of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

Our offer:

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $81,040 p.a., comprising salary rates $65.58 - $71.64 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HWF5) (Permanent Part Time, 38 hours p.f.)
