About your opportunity:

In this position you will:

  • Adhere to and maintain Queensland Health policies, guidelines, and standards, ensuring compliance with the Cairns Hospital Food Safety Program, including SACU.
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain organisational quality, food safety, and workplace health and safety systems, providing appropriate governance within the food services work area.
  • Support and supervise OO2 and OO3 Food Services staff in line with Queensland Health HR policies, including providing instruction, training, guidance, and ongoing support to promote food safety compliance.
  • Monitor, review, and maintain the currency of the Food Safety Plan, ensuring it adequately identifies potential food safety hazards and establishes effective control measures across all stages of food handling, from procurement through to plating and service.
  • Ensure all meals are produced in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, including recipe-based controls and embedded food safety requirements.
