About us:

Emerald Hospital is located 300 kms west of the Queensland coastline. The population of the surrounding community is approximately 28,000 with 15,000 at Emerald. There are two small hospitals within 100 kms, located at Blackwater and Springsure. Emerald Hospital is a 36-bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across acute, community and primary care. 300 to 400 babies are born at the Emerald Hospital each year.

About the role:

The Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skill (ENAS) complements the role of the Registered Nurse and works collaboratively within the scope of practice and delegation guidelines. The Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skill demonstrates an advanced level of skill and knowledge in a specialty area within the following five domains.

The Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skill is responsible for providing an advanced level of care, based on demonstrated continuing education, experience and competence. In Emerald the ENAS provides support for the Registered Nurse during critical events and will provide both clerical and clinical support including venepuncture and the use of Point of Care Testing.

About you:

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
  • Advanced Skills relating to specific key areas is highly desirable.
  • Contribute to nursing assessment of individuals and groups (in consultation with the Registered Nurse) for both acute and aged care focuses.
  • Implement nursing care plan as delegated by the Registered Nurse (based on recognised Enrolled Nurse competencies).
  • Interact with other members of the health care team to plan and evaluate patient/client care progress.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in specialised skills and competencies required for specific area of practice.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $61,153 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $40.43 - $42.90 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
