About the work unit / facility
Surgical 2 is a 29-bed inpatient unit that provides outstanding tertiary level care to general surgical, colorectal, urology, vascular, breast and endocrine surgical patients in addition to the only specialist hepato-biliary service outside of South East Queensland. Surgical 2 has a focus on safety and quality, embracing innovation and new ideas to ensure our patients have the best possible outcomes. The unit provides care to a wide variety of patients undergoing elective and emergency surgical procedures, often with high acuity and high nursing requirements, making it a challenging yet extremely rewarding unit to work on.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Base salary range: $56.08 - $60.05 p.h. (Nurse Grade 5)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- On-call and shift allowances (where applicable)

About your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse role requires advanced problem-solving, extensive clinical knowledge base and clinical skills, and provides education of staff and support for the NG7 roles, acting as a delegate in their absence to allocate resources and manage complex situations. Clinical Nurses are involved in quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with AHPRA.
- Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
Highly desirable
Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
