The General Surgery team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist to join their team on a Permanent Full-Time basis (80 hrs p.f.).

Your opportunity

  • Provide and maintain efficient, effective and equitable surgical services within the Mackay Hospital and Health Service, co-operating as necessary with other departments and outside agencies to ensure that Department of Surgery integrates effectively within the hospital, community health service, and the wider community.
  • Advise on surgical services as required, ensuring co-ordinated provision of care delivery by all staff within the Department of Surgery.

About the Team

The General Surgery Department consists of four General Surgery teams, one Urology team and one ENT team.  Outreach General Surgery services are provided to Proserpine and Sarina Hospitals which are supported by Consultants and Registrars/PHOs.
