An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Staff Specialist, Staff Specialist or Senior Medical Officer (GP) to join the Prison Mental Health Services team at Maryborough Correctional Centre. The role provides high-quality medical and mental health care to people in custody within a multidisciplinary, recovery-oriented service. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality mental health and primary medical care to people in custody, working within a supportive, multidisciplinary team in a structured and well-resourced environment.

Your opportunity:
- The role of the Senior Medical Officer is to provide high quality, best practice primary health care to prisoners within the assigned scope of practice in Maryborough Correctional Centre, referring patients to hospitals and specialist clinics and other health services as required.
Permanent Full Time (80 hours p.f.) or Permanent Part Time Positions (hours negotiable).
Opportunity for Private Practice:
The successful candidate may have the opportunity to establish private practice outside of their WBHHS appointment with local private hospitals. The successful candidate may receive assistance and concessions with:
- Use of the local private hospital's sessional rooms to allow establishment of practice and referral pathways
- Assistance with credentialling and administrative support to commence private practice
- Introduction to local GP's, physicians and surgeons to facilitate referral pathways.
