Based at the principal service centre for Central Queensland, you will work within the Forensic Mental Health Team to facilitate access to treatment and provide expert advice to the Magistrates' Court. About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) is a specialist provider serving over 250,000 residents. Our team in Rockhampton works collaboratively across hospitals and community agencies to facilitate recovery and reduce the symptoms of mental illness.

About the role:

  • Conduct mental health assessments and diversions in watch house and court settings.
  • Produce clinical reports on fitness for trial and unsoundness of mind for the Court.
  • Provide advice, support, and training to court and watch house staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care for clients.

About you:

  • You are a qualified Mental Health Professional (Nursing, OT, Psychology, or Social Work) with relevant AHPRA registration or AASW eligibility.
  • You possess a high degree of independent judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • You have a comprehensive working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016.
  • You are an expert communicator capable of building strong professional networks.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $7,047 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $68.86 - $74.76 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
