Metro South Health is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to deliver high-quality, evidence-based social work services across acute hospital settings at Redland Hospital, including ICU, Emergency Department and MAPU, supporting patients, families and multidisciplinary teams through complex clinical care!

About your role

As a Senior Social Worker, you will provide advanced clinical social work services within a busy acute hospital environment, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patients, families and carers through complex clinical presentations.

You will:

  • Deliver comprehensive social work assessments, risk assessment, planning and interventions across acute clinical areas
  • Provide evidence-informed, patient-centred care within an interprofessional team
  • Act as a clinical reference point for the social work team and respond to complex clinical demands
  • Provide supervision, education and support to HP3 clinicians, students and Allied Health Assistants
  • Participate in non-standard rosters including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

About you

You are an experienced and motivated social worker with strong clinical judgement, leadership capability and a passion for delivering compassionate, high-quality care in acute health settings.

You will bring:

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the AASW
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex social work services within acute hospital environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience providing supervision, training and clinical support to less experienced staff and students
  • Willingness to travel across Bayside Health sites
