Metro South Health is seeking a motivated Provisional Fellow in Obstetric Anaesthesia and Analgesia to join the Department of Anaesthetics at Logan Hospital. This temporary full-time position (commencing August 2026) provides advanced training and clinical experience in obstetric anaesthesia within a high-volume, culturally diverse maternity service, supporting safe and high-quality care for women and babies.

Your new role:

In this supervised specialist training role, you will deliver high-quality anaesthetic care while developing advanced skills in obstetric anaesthesia and analgesia.

  • Provide anaesthetic care for labour, birth and obstetric surgery, including elective and emergency procedures
  • Deliver obstetric analgesia and acute pain management, including neuraxial techniques and postnatal follow-up
  • Work collaboratively with obstetrics, midwifery, neonatology and maternal–fetal medicine teams

About you:

You are a committed anaesthesia trainee with a strong interest in obstetric anaesthesia and a focus on patient-centred care.

  • Demonstrated clinical capability in anaesthesia, with an interest in obstetric and perinatal care
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to continuous learning, safety, quality improvement and respectful care

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
