Your new role:

As a Clinical Nurse in Ward 5B (Palliative Care), you will provide advanced clinical care to patients with complex needs while offering strong professional leadership within the ward. You will work autonomously and collaboratively to ensure high-quality, person-centred outcomes, while supporting the development of nursing staff and contributing to education, quality improvement and research initiatives. In this role, you will:

  • Deliver advanced clinical nursing care to patients requiring specialist palliative care
  • Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to nursing staff across all shifts
  • Coordinate and evaluate care plans using advanced assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Contribute to quality improvement, safety initiatives and evidence-based practice

 

About you:

You are an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse who thrives in complex clinical environments and leads by example. You will bring:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in acute or palliative care settings
  • Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills
  • A commitment to person-centred care, continuous improvement and professional development

Princess Alexandra Hospital:

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
