The role:

Reporting to the Program Director, we are looking for a talented individual who shares our vision of delivering critical programs successfully in a way which inspires confidence, enhances transparency and empowers teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of project management resources in delivering key projects.
  • Overseeing the successful delivery of complex and high-risk ICT infrastructure projects to ensure project outcomes are achieved and enterprise solutions are delivered.
  • Ensuring project outcomes are achieved and project management capability is maintained within the Division.
  • Providing expert advice and strategic input into the development of project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Ensuring projects are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines and Queensland Health's formal project management (PM) approach and methodologies.
  • Ensuring internal and external stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Overseeing the monitoring and reporting of project-related trends and performance against project plans and budgets.
  • Developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations, and information papers for project stakeholders.

Are you right for this role?

This role requires extensive experience leading large scale, complex and high-risk IM/ICT projects throughout the project lifecycle, achieving successful outcomes. You will have high level knowledge and application of appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), which is essential for your success in this role.

Your well-developed negotiation and communication skills will enable you to effectively negotiate and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders across Queensland Health. You will also be experienced in putting together strategies, frameworks and plans to enable informed decision making on project issues.

You will have a proven ability to lead, manage and mentor multiple multi-disciplinary project teams, driving outputs against agreed budget and project plans.
