About your opportunity:

The position will operationally manage a cluster of Mental Health Service Group (MHSG) Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Workers employed as Team Leaders within the Cultural Assessment Liaison Team and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers (A & TSI WAES).

The position will support the Program Manager, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Assessment Engagement Service and Cultural Assessment and Liaison Team Leaders to provide strategic direction to the Mental Health Service Group to ensure safe, responsive, and culturally appropriate services are delivered to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people accessing the Townsville Hospital and Health Service Mental Health Services.

This is an identified position - Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $128,054 to $142,056 p.a. (HWF5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Role Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualification and proof of registration (if applicable).
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • Travel is a requirement of this position.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
