About us:
The Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service Older Persons Mental Health Community Team is a specialist multidisciplinary mental health team based in Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast providing assessment and treatment for people aged 65 years and over, who are experiencing mental illness. Criteria for consideration of referrral to Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples is 55 years and over. The Service aims to provide support in outpatient, home or Residential Aged Care settings, through a range of community mental health interventions including, assessment, case management, therapeutic treatment, support, consultations and referral for older adults from the Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast regional areas.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse (Older Persons) delivers quality recovery-based care at an advanced level to older people living in the community who have been diagnosed as having serious mental health conditions. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, provides discipline specific case management, early intervention strategies as well as support for carers/families. The Mental Health Clinician liaises with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in an advocacy capacity for their consumers (General Practice, Non-Government Organisations, internal Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service stakeholders).
About you:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual nursing practicing certificate is mandatory for this position.
- Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 is highly desirable.
- Demonstrates competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice with an understanding of recovery focussed Mental Health care.
- Demonstrates an ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team utilising comprehensive communication skills to establish effective partnerships and provide consultation to the team as well as other government and non–government service providers.
- Demonstrates an ability to deliver routine older person mental health clinical services utilising time management and prioritisation skills.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $135,857 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
