About us:
Gladstone Hospital is an 83-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics.
Approximately 500 babies are born at the Gladstone Hospital each year and approximately 1,600 surgical cases performed in the two operating theatres. There is a 29-bed mixed General Surgical and Medical Ward and a four bed High Dependency Unit where patients may be held pending retrieval, or for close observation not possible on the wards. Additional beds are available for paediatrics. The hospital has a busy surgical outpatient clinic reviewing a wide variety of surgical conditions.
About the role:
- To effectively coordinate and process approved patient travel needs in accordance with the Queensland Health Travel and Accommodation Policy and Standards.
- Coordinate approved patient travel and process travel claims in a timely manner, in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
- Provide advice to clients about eligibility requirements and travel options.
- Assist in the reconciliation and preparation for payments of accounts.
- Participate in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal systems, processes and work practices.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to existing practices.
About you:
- Proven ability or ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge of relevant standards, policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and react responsively to client expectations.
- Knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of administrative procedures and policies and standards in a travel environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously maintaining an effective workflow in an environment of deadlines, competing, and changing priorities.
- Sound oral communication and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with a broad range of client groups.
- Ability to effectively use or quickly acquire ability to use Microsoft Office applications and hospital information systems.
- Coordinate approved patient travel and process travel claims in a timely manner, in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $4,975 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $41.38 - $46.10 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
