Role details
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Community Engagement Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Administration Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
This role will provide administrative support to assist the Better Cardiac Care program at the Mackay Base Hospital.
About the Team
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit is an essential element of the MHHS support services and ensures the development and delivery of culturally appropriate services and models of health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families. The Better Cardiac Care Program which involves a model of care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with heart disease is committed to improving the heart health of First Nations patients utilising a quality framework to address service access issues, health literacy challenges, care co-ordination and the provision of culturally care.
The Better Cardiac Care Program supports patients to access and engage with Cardiac Services, including the Coronary Care Unit (CCU); Cardiac Catheter Laboratory (CCL) Clinical Measurements Unit for Cardiac testing the Heart Health Team and Heart Failure and titration team. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit will work alongside Cardiac Services to provide care and support to First Nations patients referred into the Better Cardiac Care Program.
