An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Career Pathways Officer to join the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services at the Bundaberg Hospital within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 225,000 residents including several rural communities.

Your opportunity:

  • To provide ongoing support to the Deadly Start School Based Traineeship Program and QH Cadetship Program.
  • Coordinate and manage the administrative requirements of students taking part in the Deadly Start Program and QH Cadetship Program.
  • Promote WBHHS student opportunities through coordination and attendance at career fairs and schools within WBHHS.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including but not limited to, all current and prospective Deadly Start trainees, Queensland high schools, government, and non-government stakeholders, and WBHHS staff.
  • This position will report to the Cultural Capability Program Manager.

Temporary Part Time (38 hours p.f.) from date of appointment until 15th May 2026.

Under 25s of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

Our offer:

You will receive competitive salary rates between $45.81 - $50.47 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO4) (Temporary Part Time, 38 hours p.f., from date of appointment until 15th May 2026).
