About the Team
The Operating Rooms (OR) at Queensland Children's Hospital provide specialised perioperative care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents undergoing elective and emergency surgical procedures across multiple specialties. The unit functions within a high-acuity, fast-paced, and multidisciplinary environment, prioritising patient safety, family-centred care, and evidence-based practice. The Clinical Practice Facilitator plays a key role in supporting safe clinical practice, workforce capability, and professional development within the OR setting.
About the Role
The Clinical Practice Facilitator plans, facilitates and evaluates learning opportunities in partnership with the relevant Nurse Educator. The Clinical Practice Facilitator provides advanced clinical care within a specialty area, supporting the functioning of the unit through the application of leadership, best practice teaching and learning strategies and education portfolio management.
Autonomy
- Practices autonomously.
- Provides educational guidance in clinical decision making to give and/or coordinate care to particular patients.
- Assumes responsibility of education for a ward, service or unit in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 (NG7).
- Applies critical thinking across all the domains.
