About us:
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305‑bed facility and the main referral hospital for Central Queensland. It now delivers integrated cancer care from a new, state‑of‑the‑art building. Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon, Biloela and numerous rural facilities regularly transfer patients to Rockhampton for specialist care.
The hospital hosts students from the University of Queensland's Central Queensland Rural Clinical School and partners with Central Queensland University for Nursing and Health Studies. A strong focus is placed on developing a local medical workforce through an active Medical Education Unit and comprehensive registrar training.
Specialist services include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics, supported by visiting tertiary specialists.
Rockhampton Hospital holds accreditation for training in Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Psychiatry.
About the role:
Delivery of efficient and effective administrative support that is consistent with quality health care, by providing relief to all positions within the Administrative Support and Development Unit at Rockhampton Hospital.
- Work a 5-day week (Monday – Friday) roster during core business hours of 0600 – 1800.
- Understand your broad responsibility for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Carry out work in accordance with prescribed practices and procedures and in a manner, that will not create health and safety hazards for yourself or others in the workplace. The provision of a healthy and safe environment within the health service is everyone's responsibility.
- Exercise judgment and discretion in undertaking various tasks, being responsible for the quality of work undertaken, prioritising workload effectively, and performing duties responsibly within the team or in the absence of supervision.
About you:
- Exercise judgement and initiative to resolve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been established and procedures have not been defined, ensuring a satisfactory outcome is achieved.
- Proficiency in the application of computerised information systems and applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Proven ability to act as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality services to clients.
- Well-developed administrative skills to provide an administrative support function to a multidisciplinary team within a hospital environment.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $99,508 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $41.38 - $46.10 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
