About the role
This role leads the development and monitoring of the RBWH Infection Control Management Plan, provides secretariat support to the Strategic Infection Control Committee, and is the organisational lead for National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standard 3: Preventing and Controlling Healthcare Associated Infection. As a Nurse Grade 7, you will demonstrate autonomy, advanced decision‑making, operational leadership, and high-level clinical governance capability while supporting a culture of education, research, and workforce development.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Support the Nursing Director and Clinical Director Infectious Diseases by identifying inconsistencies between practice and policy, and work in collaboration with the interprofessional team to implement changes.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem solving skills and expert clinical judgement in relation to Infection Monitoring and Prevention.
- Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience and clinical skills in Infection Monitoring and Prevention.
