About the Team
The Integrated Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) provide complex secondary and tertiary level health care. CYMHS offers specialised mental health services for families with children and young people (birth to 18 years) who experience severe and complex mental health problems, and where their needs cannot be met by other services.
About the Role
The position of Speech Pathologist – Clinical Education Support Officer will:
- Enhance the capacity and capability of Child and Youth Mental Health Speech Pathology to undertake new graduate and pre-entry Speech Pathology clinical education and training.
How you will contribute to CHQ
In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
Clinical Practice
- Coordinate and deliver clinical education programs for pre-entry students and new graduate speech pathologists to enhance capacity, quality, consistency, and minimum standards of education in the context of child and youth mental health speech pathology.
- Provide high level, independent, recovery-oriented, mental health speech pathology clinical services informed by clinical reasoning, best available evidence, and prescribed professional and ethical
- Develop knowledge and expertise in clinical education, supervision, and clinical practice through active learning and by engaging in professional development programs, performance appraisal, and clinical
- Provide supervision, training, and support to staff and students of CYMHS and as delegated by the CYMHS Clinical Consultant Speech Pathology.
