About us:

Day Surgery Services manages the Preadmission Clinic, Day Surgery Ward, Endoscopy Unit (Procedure Room), Post Anaesthetic Recovery Unit (Recovery) and support is given to the Clinical Nurse in the Acute Pain Service. These components of the Day Surgery Services collaborate as an integrated Day Surgery Service.

The Preadmission clinic consists of 6 consult rooms with a 10-chair waiting area. Day Surgery consists of a 10 bed and 7 recliner open plan unit. The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit has 9 bays which receives from 5 Operating Theatres, 2 Procedure Rooms as well as the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) suite. Both elective and emergency surgical patients are managed within the service.

About the role:

The Clinical Nurse (CN) within Gastroenterology is a Registered Nurse who demonstrates advanced clinical expertise and autonomy in the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. The CN provides leadership in clinical decision-making, coordination of patient care, and mentors nursing staff across various nursing roles. The CN contributes to service excellence through portfolio responsibilities in clinical practice, education, research, and may assume leadership duties in the absence of the senior nursing team.

  • Provide leadership in clinical decision making to give and/or coordinate care to particular recipients of healthcare services.
  • Assume responsibility for professional leadership for a ward, service or unit in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7.

About you:

  • The successful applicant will hold a tertiary degree qualification such as a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.
  • Current nursing registration though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is also a requirement for this position.
  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
  • Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of contemporary practice and theory in speciality area.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and competence in gastroenterology nursing practice and theory.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $9,533 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
