About us:
The Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU) is a dedicated 12-bed short stay unit designed to streamline the assessment, planning, and management of patients who require multidisciplinary input and timely medical intervention. The unit serves as an intermediary care setting between the Emergency Department (ED) and inpatient wards, supporting efficient decision-making and optimised patient flow.
The MAPU at Rockhampton Hospital aims to improve patient flow by reducing the burden of the flux of medical admissions on the ED, reduce length of stay through efficient and timely access to multidisciplinary care, optimise the quality of care and patient outcomes, as well as promoting the efficient use of resources.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse (CN) is required to lead and deliver person centred nursing care within a dynamic health environment at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) – Registered Nurse Standards of Practice. They are required to provide clinical leadership for clinical practice, education and research. This position is responsible for coordination of portfolios and providing professional advice in the MAPU.
The Clinical Nurse is required to apply critical thinking across all of the 5 domains as well as the expectation to work collaboratively to coordinate and support practice changes and clinical innovation.
About you:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current practicing certificate are mandatory for this position.
- Although not mandatory, a relevant postgraduate qualification or working towards is desirable for this position.
- Demonstrated high level of understanding and competence with acute medical clinical pathways, protocols and equipment.
- Highly advanced skills and knowledge to assist in planning, resource management and development of self and others.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $135,857 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
