About us:
The Cairns Integrated Palliative Care Service is a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team that provides specialist palliative care services to residents living within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.
The service aims to deliver high quality, evidence based palliative care with a primary focus on improving the quality of life of people living with a life limiting illness.
The service encourages continuity of client care across the care continuum and is committed to supporting patients and their carers to have care delivered in their preferred place of care, and encourages close linkages with consumer and carer groups, non-government organisations and other government agencies.
Gordonvale Hospital is situated 30 minutes south of Cairns and offers specialist palliative care (12 beds) and a 12-bed inpatient unit for general medicine patients with complex medical needs.
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services.
About you:
In your new role you will……
- Accountable for NMBA and own standards, actions and the outcomes of own nursing/midwifery practice, professional advice given and for activities delegated to a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife, Enrolled Nurse, or unregulated healthcare worker.
- Act as a role model for Registered Nurses/Registered Midwives, Enrolled Nurses, and unregulated healthcare workers in the provision of holistic healthcare.
- Engage in incident reporting/investigation and conduct and apply quality improvement frameworks and audits and develop risk minimisation strategies/activities to promote safe and/or rectify unsafe practice.
