Your new role:
This is a fast-paced and highly valued administrative position responsible for delivering high-quality, client-focused support to the Endoscopy Unit and Gastroenterology Services.
- Provide comprehensive reception and administrative services including patient admissions, discharges and transfers, appointment bookings, waitlist management, and coordination of transport, interpreter services and follow-up care.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all incoming and outgoing communication, managing enquiries, preparing correspondence, and liaising with referring doctors and health facilities.
- Support the Nurse Unit Manager and clinical team with confidential record management, electronic medical record processing, billing (including Medicare online transmissions), and compliance with Queensland Health requirements.
About you:
You are a highly organised and service-driven administrative professional who thrives in a healthcare environment and is committed to delivering outstanding patient-focused support.
- Demonstrated experience in managing busy reception and administrative functions, ideally within a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks, manage patient waitlists and bookings, and meet critical deadlines with accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with patients, medical staff, and external stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
