Join us as a Principal Facilities Officer and take on a pivotal role in supporting the National Fire Ant Eradication Program. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team responsible for managing the Program's facilities, ensuring the delivery of a safe, effective, and efficient work environment. Your role will include oversight of after-hours and weekend security and duties as required, ensuring seamless operations at all times.
As a Principal Facilities Officer, you will contribute your specialist knowledge and provide expert advice to support the Program's ongoing services, projects, and strategies related to facilities management. You will prepare detailed reports, submissions, and correspondence on complex and sensitive issues, offering nuanced advice on fleet and asset management. Your expertise will help drive informed decision-making and ensure the Program operates at its best.
A key focus of your role will be to identify and implement business improvements that maximise return on investment for resource expenditure. This includes managing budgets for facilities leasing, overseeing relocations, and ensuring the effective maintenance and delivery of goods and vehicles. You will build and maintain strong internal and external networks, working collaboratively across boundaries to achieve successful outcomes.
You will play a vital role in advising and supporting management in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of facilities strategies for the Program. This includes areas such as security access and workplace safety. By analysing and reporting on current and emerging facilities needs through structured consultation with management and key stakeholders, you will ensure the Program remains responsive and adaptable to changing requirements.
In this leadership role, you will oversee your team in managing and maintaining positive business relationships with leasing agencies, property managers, and contractors. Your efforts will ensure that facilities and buildings remain in excellent condition, providing safe and productive environments for all occupants. You will also lead procurement and contract management processes for facilities and fleet-related activities, ensuring compliance with policies and achieving value for money.
Additionally, you will oversee staff responsible for the collection and delivery of vehicles and goods, as well as the maintenance of vehicles, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Your ability to lead and inspire your team will be critical in fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and professional work culture.
We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will bring strong leadership skills, a professional approach, and a positive outlook to this role. Your ability to work independently, utilise initiative, and maintain a focus on continuous improvement will be highly valued. If you are ready to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the success of the National Fire Ant Eradication Program, we encourage you to apply today.
