You will work closely with HHS, consultants, and contractors, providing strong leadership, financial oversight, and risk management across the project lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver health projects that vary in size and complexity around the state. The role includes travel to the regions (as required) to continue proactive engagement with the local market, HHS stakeholders, and First Nations representatives.
Our Purpose
Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.
The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. Working for HIQ, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?
Benefits for Joining HIQ:
- Attractive and competitive salary with annual incremental increases, generous employer superannuation contributions and leave loading.
- Flexible working arrangements along with a supportive and friendly work environment.
- Corporate discounts and employee wellness programs.
- Countless opportunities to learn and ongoing professional development.
- Committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace for all employees.
- You will contribute to making a difference in the lives of Queenslanders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure projects from initiation through to completion.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk.
- Apply best-practice project controls, governance, and reporting.
- Manage and coordinate consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About you
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex infrastructure projects, preferably within a health or similar environment.
- Strong capability in project management methodologies, financial management, and risk management.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage consultant and contractor performance.
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant qualifications in project management, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline are well regarded.
