Working within the Quality and Safety Division, you will act as a trusted business partner to our clinical teams. You will lead six direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and Safety-II—learning from what goes right to build system resilience. You will collaborate with executive stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure Central Queensland Health remains a leader in regional healthcare. About us:

The Quality and Safety Division leads and supports the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care across Central Queensland Health. Operating as a trusted business partner to all clinical delivery areas, the Division provides expert guidance, governance frameworks, and practical support to ensure care is delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety. Through close collaboration, it helps clinical teams translate data, evidence, and insights into meaningful improvement actions that enhance outcomes for patients, staff, and the organisation.

About the role:

  • Provide strategic leadership and expert quality management guidance to health service stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and implementation of frameworks to monitor and evaluate quality activities.
  • Develop systems to collect and integrate data that supports organisational decision-making.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage team resources and assets to achieve service outcomes within organisational policies.
  • Lead innovation projects and service improvement initiatives across the health service.

About you:

  • You are appointable as a Health Practitioner, Registered Nurse or Administration Officer – with the relevant qualification, registration or experience.
  • You are a senior leader with a proven ability to manage complex service environments and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • You possess excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence safety and governance priorities.
  • You have demonstrated expertise in quality improvement, project management, and evidence-based practice.
  • You are committed to person-centred care and building strong consumer partnerships.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $172,615 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $144,991 - $151,289 p.a. (HP5)
  • An hourly rate between $137,355 - $147,245 p.a. (AO7)
  • An hourly rate between $136,538 - $148,242 p.a. (NRG7)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
