You will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient safety and clinical quality. By monitoring emerging trends and implementing recommendations from audits and incident reviews, you will drive a culture of continuous learning. Your expertise in National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards will be vital as you guide stakeholders toward meeting key healthcare outcomes. This role offers the autonomy to innovate and the support of a connected executive team.

About us:

The Quality and Safety Division leads and supports the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care across Central Queensland Health. Operating as a trusted business partner to all clinical delivery areas, the Division provides expert guidance, governance frameworks, and practical support to ensure care is delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety. Through close collaboration, it helps clinical teams translate data, evidence, and insights into meaningful improvement actions that enhance outcomes for patients, staff, and the organisation.

About the role:

  • Provide strategic leadership to assist stakeholders in meeting identified healthcare outcomes.
  • Lead the development of systems that align data to support organisational innovation.
  • Represent the health service on advisory forums to influence governance priorities.
  • Prepare high-quality briefs and reports for Executive submission.
  • Deliver education and training to build staff capability in quality and safety processes.

About you:

  • You hold a tertiary degree in a Health Practitioner discipline and are AHPRA registered or have relevant professional membership.
  • You have senior leadership capability with experience in financial and workforce management.
  • You are an expert in the use of data systems like Power BI and Microsoft Office to drive change.
  • You have a proven ability to lead and mentor teams while fostering a performance-led culture.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $172,615 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $144,991 - $151,289 p.a.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
