About the role
As a Clinical Nurse (NG6 Band 1) on Ward 8BN, you will deliver advanced clinical care to patients with acute medical conditions, with a particular focus on respiratory diseases. You will work autonomously within your scope, contribute to clinical leadership, and support the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of safe, effective, value‑based care.
You will also provide guidance to Registered Nurses and unregulated staff in complex situations, model best practice, and contribute to portfolio responsibilities, quality improvement, and professional development activities within the ward.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing/midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Apply advanced clinical nursing expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of consumer/patient centred care.
- Respond appropriately to and provide support and direction to manage sudden alterations in the health status of the consumer/patient using advanced nursing assessment and intervention skills.
- Provide teaching to both consumers/patients and their families to facilitate learning and enable them to move towards independence.
