What your day could look like
As a Clinical Midwife, you'll help local families feel safe, informed and supported across pregnancy, birth and early parenting. From leading coordinated care to building team capability, you'll collaborate across disciplines to deliver outcomes that matter for women, babies and our region.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Leading and coordinating evidence‑based care in both routine and complex situations to enable timely, safe decisions.
- Coaching and precepting midwives and students to lift capability and confidence across every shift.
- Advancing quality and safety—turning audit and incident learnings into better pathways, models and outcomes.
- Championing culturally safe, respectful care in true partnership with women, families and community.
Let's talk about you!
You bring capability and care in equal measure. You think on your feet, act with integrity, and bring people with you when it matters most. You're proud to advocate for every woman's choices, to listen deeply, and to lead calmly in the unexpected—guided by compassion, dignity, innovation and courage.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife (AHPRA/NMBA) and recent practice across the maternity continuum.
- Proven leadership in coordinating workloads and shifts while delivering safe, woman‑centred care.
- Advanced clinical judgement, clear communication, and collaborative teamwork in multidisciplinary settings.
- Capacity to meet 24/7 roster requirements; confident with manual handling and PPE (including P2/N95 fit‑testing); vaccinated for relevant VPDs; ‘C' class licence.
You'll stand out if you have rural or regional experience and/or postgraduate study in midwifery or leadership.
Most importantly, you're passionate about humanising maternity care and strengthening continuity, including for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
Together, we create safer beginnings and stronger connections—living our values of Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage.
