About us:
Innisfail Hospital is a level 3 rural hospital staffed and managed by Rural Generalists. We are keen to welcome a Rural Generalist Obstetrician to join our work group. We have a highly collaborative and supportive team of Rural Generalists Obstetricians, Anaesthetists and Endoscopists. We have a strong focus on providing education and mentorship for Rural Generalist trainees and ongoing case based reflection and training for Senior staff. Our hospital is generously supported by a Hospital Foundation allowing us access to amazing state of the art resuscitation and ultrasound equipment. We operate a High Dependency Unit capable of stabilising and treating critically unwell patients. Innisfail is in the heart of the Wet Tropics and has unparalleled access to World Heritage rainforest and Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Don't miss this opportunity to join our dynamic team.
About your new role:
In your new role you will……
- Deliver high‑quality obstetric, rural generalist and acute care within your credentialed scope of practice with the opportunity for Maternity only shifts.
- You will handle antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care, obstetric emergencies, and general rural practice as part of a multidisciplinary, highly coordinated team.
- Provide clinical leadership, professional communication and patient‑centred care.
As a Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service employee, not only will you receive competitive base salary up to $274,678 per annum full time (L18 – L27) or up to $216,643 per annum full time (L13 – L18), you will also have access to:
- Generous superannuation (up to 12.75%)

- Inaccessibility incentive allowance ($13,800 per annum full time 100% paid after 12 months service)
