About us:

Welcome to the Rockhampton Emergency Department—a high-energy environment where no two minutes are the same. As Central Queensland's key referral hub, we manage 140+ daily presentations across 25 acute spaces, 3 resus bays, and a 12-bed Short Stay Unit. Working closely with the RFDS, our team delivers critical trauma and emergency care to a diverse regional community. From our dedicated Fast-Track zone to high-acuity cases, we make a real difference when it matters most.

About the role:

  • Provide advanced Emergency Nursing knowledge and leadership in clinical decision-making to coordinate care at an advanced level.
  • Lead the interdisciplinary team in promoting a work culture that supports change, education, and research.
  • Establish frameworks to ensure standards and practices comply with legislation and contemporary evidence-based practice.
  • Develop and lead quality improvement projects to ensure the provision of quality, cost-effective patient care.
  • Provide professional and clinical supervision, training, and development opportunities for staff and students.
  • Maintain high-level interpersonal and documentation skills while working effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

About you:

  • You hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • You demonstrate the ability to lead an Emergency Team with confidence, integrity, and advanced clinical problem-solving skills.
  • You possess proven leadership skills to precept staff and contribute to professional nursing practice and education.
  • You can effectively coordinate patient care and apply well-developed negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • You have a deep understanding of quality improvement processes and the drive to lead portfolio activities.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $135,875 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
