About the Team

The Patient Support Services team is comprised of seven essential units that work collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation and safety of the healthcare environment. These units include Cleaning, which maintains hygiene and infection control standards; Linen, responsible for the supply and management of hospital textiles; Waste, which handles the safe and efficient disposal of various waste streams; and Porterage, which supports the movement of patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the facility. The Help Desk serves as a central communication hub, coordinating service requests and support tasks. CELS (Central Equipment Loan Service) provide and manages the distribution of medical equipment to support clinical care. Lastly, fr ensures the safety and protection of patients, staff, and visitors. Together, these units form a cohesive team dedicated to supporting patient care and hospital operations. About the Role

You will fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with the CHQ HHS core values and as outlined below.

  • Provide high quality confidential administrative support to the Patient Support Services team as directed.
  • Work autonomously, utilising discretion in the absence of decision makers in resolution of conflict, to meet deadlines, establish work priorities, and organise meetings, events, and activities.
  • Exercise judgement when necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures are not defined.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal systems, processes, and work practices.
