Director, Regional and Rural Delivery
Brisbane
Queensland’s hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHSs), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen. The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. Working in HIQ, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?

About the role
As the Director, Regional and Rural Delivery, you will provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of health infrastructure projects, with a key focus on delivering multiple regional and rural initiatives that enhance healthcare access and outcomes for communities across Queensland.
Recognising the State's ageing health assets and vast geography, sparse populations, and environmental factors that create barriers to equitable healthcare access, the Queensland Government has prioritised regional and rural equity through significant capital investment. This investment in Queensland's regional and rural communities will expand and replace facilities and deliver new facilities to boost equity in access to healthcare services. As the Director, Regional and Rural Delivery, you will play a critical role delivering on the Government's vision and investment.
In this role, you will manage significant budgets and lead multidisciplinary teams while representing Queensland Health at a senior level. You will drive a “one team” culture and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of governance, quality, performance and value. You will lead long-term infrastructure planning, contribute to policy development, and high-level stakeholder engagement to deliver sustainable, future-focused infrastructure solutions.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering large scale complex projects within a health infrastructure service delivery environment or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a high performing team while ensuring quality human and financial resources practices are adhered to.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiations skills at a senior level, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and other industry partners to achieve required outcomes.
- Experience managing integrated project teams with a focus on shared planning, risk identification and problem-solving to promote transparency and integrated ways of working.
- The ability to plan, manage and implement strategic solutions in managing outcomes for a project of varying size and complexity.
If you are an experienced infrastructure leader with a passion for delivering complex health capital projects across regional and rural communities throughout the State, we encourage you to apply and be part of Queensland's healthcare future.
