About the role

As a valued member of the Occupational Therapy team at Mount Isa Hospital, you'll deliver comprehensive OT services to a varied caseload across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Supported by a senior clinician and working within a multidisciplinary Allied Health team, you'll develop your skills, contribute to service improvement, and play a key role in ensuring safe, high‑quality care for the North West community.

  • Provide person‑centred OT assessment and intervention across all ages and service areas, including opportunities to develop skills in lymphedema, hand therapy, burns/skin graft care, vascular disease, and child development.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, delivering culturally safe and responsive care in line with NWHHS strategies and frameworks.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture through effective communication, supervision of students, and active engagement in professional development.

Working with us

    • Eligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum.
    • Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum.
    • Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f.
    • Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.

Requirements

      • Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
      • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
      • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
      • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
      • A period of probation may apply.
