About us:

The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to the residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.

The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service works in collaboration with the Adult Mental Health Inpatient (MHIU) and Acute Care Teams, Primary Health as well as community and private sector providers to reduce symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery. 

About the role:

  • Participate in the development, utilisation and review of clinical pathways and care management protocols within the interdisciplinary framework.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, external referral sources, consumers and visitors to promote consumer focus and involvement that meets the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
  • Demonstrate participation, motivation and commitment to organisational change that promotes clinical and organisational innovation across the Business Units and maintains consistency in processes, procedures, and reporting formats.
  • Deliver direct care to consumers including those with complex care needs, ensuring clinical care is evidence based, and that consumers' rights are upheld.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of Unit induction, transition and staff development programs and activities.

About you:

  • Current Nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a quality, safety and risk framework, and undertake preventative and management strategies to minimise or prevent clinical risk as it relates to the application of relevant standards.
  • Ability to provide support to the Business Unit and Safety and Quality Unit in the implementation and evaluation of Safety and Quality Programs developed from Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service's Safety and Quality Strategic Plan.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $124,741 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $42.98 – $55.13 p.h.
  • An hourly rate between $53.73 - $68.92 p.h. (includes 25% casual loading)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
